Bio

Hi, I’m Arjun! I am a third-year PhD student in the Computer Science Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara advised by Haewon Jeong.

My research interests are broadly in machine learning, information theory, and responsible AI. I am particularly interested in developing methods for understanding, evaluating, and improving machine learning systems, with applications to fairness, privacy, safety, and reliability. My work draws on ideas from probability, statistics, and information theory to study and improve modern learning systems. Check out some of my work in my publications page!

I completed my BS degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of California, San Diego and my MS degree in Computer Science at Columbia University.

In my free time, I enjoy following baseball, playing board games, and composing music.
